Yes, I'm finally making my journal Friends Only. Why? Cos only my friends read it anyway! If, by any random chance, you aren't my friend and want in on the "fun", then comment, add me first, and I'll add you. Easy enough.

You Are Balanced - Realist - Empowered

You feel your life is controlled both externally and internally.
You have a good sense of what you can control and what you should let go.
Depending on the situation, you sometimes try to exert more control.
Other times, you accept things for what they are and go with the flow.

You are a realist when it comes to luck.
You don't attribute everything to luck, but you do know some things are random.
You don't beat yourself up when bad things happen to you...
But you do your best to try to make your own luck.

You have a good deal of power, but you also know the pecking order.
You realize that working the system does get you further.
You know who to defer to and who to control.
When it comes to the game of life, you play things flawlessly.

Oh, yeah, that's so totally me. Not.

I've not updated in a couple of days for a few reasons. The main one is that Rose is staying with me for ten or so days while her dad is in Bolivia and we've just been having sooooooo much fun that I've been ignoring you. [/sarcasm]

But seriously, I do have some things I want to talk about later. I don't have time now as I'm about to leave for the mall, but I'll go into it later. Mostly serious stuff about me and my masochistic tendencies. Yeah.

Annnnnd, some good news: I found a great website with Garbage icons. Squee!

I really ought to be doing my fifty-odd history terms right now, but A)I can't make the printer work, meaning I have to write them all--they're due tomorrow and B) how could I do history terms when I have memes to take up space on my LJ with??

Note to anyone who opposes memeage: Don't like it, don't read it. Wanna change it? When my paid account expires, buy me a new one. kthxbye.

Okay. Last time(hopefully) I will ever have to be offline for 3 weeks. I would like to take this opportunity to say that if you are considering Charter as an internet service provider...DON'T. Seriously, they're the reason our TV and internet were so completely screwed up. So today we got a new computer, and switched to BellSouth, so hopefully everything will all work out.

Since I've been "gone" so much has happened. I don't even know where to begin, and since I doubt I'd remember it all anyway, I think I'll just say the important stuff. I know, I know, you're thinking, 'important stuff? What important stuff could she possibly have to say?'

Well, I do. So shut up.

Actually, I'm unbelievably tired, and have completely forgotten what I was going to say. I guess I don't have important stuff to say. Imagine that.

So I'll leave you with one question. It's not rhetorical. I really want an answer. If you have a boyfriend and your "best friend" suddenly decides she likes him and tells you to(quote, more or less)"hang on to him, cos I'm after him" is she totally the Scum of The Earth or is that just my opinion?

Ahem. If anyone actually bothers to read my *somewhat* asinine posts, I would like to assure you that I do indeed live. My internet's still down at home, so I've comandeered Dad's at the moment. So...

Remember earlier I posted about going to PQA? I GET TO GO!!!!! (For those of you who didn't listen to the voice post, PQA is a Bible Quiz competition being held tomorrow, incidentally, and only six people were chosen to go.(The six best; five playing and one alternate, with the alternate switching in occasionally.)

I AM A CHOSEN ONE.

There's a lot more I want to say, but I won't go into it right now. I really need to check my friend's page and see what all I've missed having been without the worldwide web for two whole weeks. Erlack.

Also, I'm changing my layout. Soon. Found cool title-type things. (Well, listened to cool song and thought lyrics would make an apropos layout for myself.)

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to re-memorize the book of Matthew.

Your Brain's Pattern

Your mind is a firestorm - full of intensity and drama.
Your thoughts may seem scattered to you most of the time...
But they often seem strong and passionate to those around you.
You are a natural influencer. The thoughts you share are very powerful and persuading.

Okay, since Dad's computer has working sound, I downloaded "Raspberry Swirl." Best. Song. Evah. In my opinion, anyway. Which really doesn't amount to much, but believe me this time when I say it's teh awesome. I've been listening to it on repeat for the better part of an hour.

What is your stand on.....

Abortion?against abortion, except for rape/medical reasons. Pro-choice, though. My opinion isn't necessarily everyone else's.
Death Penalty?Completely against. Just had discussion with father earlier over death penalty. If you really care to hear the rant, lemme know.
Prostitution? For the love of God, who in their right mind is PRO prostitution?!
Alcohol?Against misuse of.
Marijuana?Erm. Well, I think it should be legalized, and I have a *ahem* rather opinionated "rant" on that as well...
Other drugs?I don't like drugs period.
Gay marriage?Against, but I'm not like a "OMG, you're gay you're going to HELL!!" fanatic, either.
Illegal immigrants?No opinion.
Smoking?Against. It smells, it's bad for you, and it makes your mouth look all pinched.
Drunk driving?Do you really have to ask? Totally and completely against.
Cloning?Against. We're supposed to be unique. That's the way God made us.
Racism?Oh, yes, I'm a complete supremacist. Riiiiiight.
Premarital sex?Against, but since I've sworn never to marry it seems inevitable.
Religion?Against religious fanatics and the stigma they've given people who have a certain faith.
The war in Iraq?Pointless and way too dragged out.
Bush?Ack. Twat.
Downloading music?If I said against, I'd be a hypocrite...
The legal drinking age?Does anyone actually pay attention to it?
Porn?Against. It's all so squick. Just the connotations of the word bring up disgusting images.
Suicide?Sometimes seems like the only way out.(Disclaimer: I'm not suicidal!)

Your Blog Should Be Red
Your blog is full of intensity and passion. You are very opinionated - and people love or hate you for it. You have the potential to be both a famous and infamous blogger.

Schweeeeeeeeet.

I've hijacked Dad's secretary's computer. Mwahahaha!

This entry was intended to actually be posted yesterday, but as my computer is so f*cked up, I've got to post it today, instead.

So yesterday was our first actual Bible Quiz practice. As in, we did an actual competition. I did all right. I knew all the answers, I was just never the first to stand up. I just need to be quicker on my feet. The guys all think that girls aren't supposed to do BQ. They think we'll just quit. Being fledgling feminists, this pissed Heather and me off to no end, so we decided that instead of just memorizing the first ten verses of our assigned chapters, we're going to memorize the whole chapter. Mr. Bamford said that anyone who has their whole chapter word perfect on Tuesday gets a five dollar gift certificate to Maggie Moo's.(A puportedly cheap ice cream parlor--I've never been.) But what Heather and I are doing goes beyond the desire for free ice cream. It's totally not about the ice cream. It's about earning the respect of my teammates. To prove that girls are just as good as boys. Better, in fact.

The only other notable thing that happened yesterday was our new articles were due in biology. I did mine on stem cell research. Remember? This is the class where the teacher spent the whole class period preaching on the evils of stem cell research. In the opinion part of my write-up, I was pro stem cell. Yes, I'm sure Mrs. Marett will have a few choice words to say to me come Tuesday morning...

I can't wait. =^__^=

I've gotta memorize ten verses by Friday and recite them to the class and I've got two tests and a quiz tomorrow and I'm sick and GAH!!

*dies*

On the plus side, Grace is writing another story with me.(Although, considering the fiasco last time, it may not be a plus side...Oh well.)

I've gone meme crazy. Must get this one out of the way... )

Geometry-- We've our first chapter test Thursday. It's third grade stuff. No really. We have to draw lines. That's all.(Well, okay, we have to identify problems as being commutative or whatever, but it's not like that's hard.) Mr. Roberts gave some practise problems. I read my novel and listened to my iPod. He didn't even notice, even though I'm right in front of him. I love stupid people.

Bible-- We had an open book quiz. Was easy. This was possibly my last day in this class, as I've decided to do Bible Quiz instead. More on that when I get to Spanish.

History-- We had a quiz here, too. I made a 99. I knew all the material, but, in a moment of stupidity, misspelled 'odyssey.' *face palm*

Biology-- No offence to anyone, but I really think this class is useless. We took notes on what matter and atoms are. Sheesh.

Chorus-- Jay did a Toby Keith(Whoever that is.) impersonation. He sang 'American Soldier,' leaving me with one thought: has he no shame???

Spanish-- Test tomorrow. Easy peasy. BUT: Mr. Bamford is the coach of the Bible Quiz team. In BQ, you memorise chapters of the Bible and answers questions in game show form.(First one to stand up with the correct answer gets the point, etc, etc.) Last week we only had three members on the team, all boys. Mr. B has recruited some more guys to do it. Heather, Courtney, Grace, and I have recruited ourselves to also be on the team. We would meet during our normal Bible time. Which means no more quizzes and tests, but I don't get to have Mrs. Gunby anymore. Which is sad, as she's always been my favourite teacher.

English-- Literature test tomorrow. We read Walt Whitman today. Eh. I'm not particularly partial to Whitman. He's all right, I suppose. But we may get to go see King Lear in November. That'd be cool. I love love love Shakespeare.

Nisi kinda amused me today. She's decided that she's gonna start her own Suburbia, with requirements. You have to be white, blonde or brunette, quiet, conservative, Christian. ESPECIALLY no liberals. MOST especially not ones who don't like Dubya and think he's an idiot. Gee, you think she was trying to tell me something??? And the sad thing is, she was trying to make me mad. Ha.
